Interclub Swim C/ships on today

The National Aquatic Centre is set to be the venue for the Sea Otter Inter-Club Championships which are set to commence today.
This, the second annual meet, will see top clubs engaging in battle in the pool for top honours in the one-day event. Swimmers from Dorado, Orca, Silver Sharks, Dolphin and Torpedo are set to compete.
Executive member of the club, Dave Ramnarine, has said immense opportunity presents itself for local clubs at the Sea Otter Swim Academy-organized championships after defending champions Verlengde Gemenelandsweg (VOS) from neighbouring Suriname pulled out.
The meet will also serve as a fundraiser for the club’s developmental programmes.
There will be a 25-metre freestyle category for the first time in this competition.
The event is set to paddle off at 14:30hrs.
