– East Coast scrape 3-wicket win

Led by an unbeaten 80-run opening partnership by Jordan Campbell and Romeo Deonarine, Georgetown chased down East Bank’s 79 in the match played at Everest Cricket Club, winning the match by 10 wickets. In the second fixture, played at the Georgetown Cricket Club, (GCC) Nicholas Sheopersaud captured a five-wicket haul in East Coast’s lone three-wicket win in this tournament, over West Demerara.

delay; only West Indies U-15 player Mavindra Dindyal reached double figures, scoring an aggressive 46. Wrist-spinner Shaquan Walter was very effective with ball in hand, grabbing 3-1 in 16 balls. He was greatly supported by Avinash Rajkumar’s 2-20 and Krsna Singh 2-10 when the innings was completed in 29.4 overs.
In pursuit of victory, Georgetown was unbothered as they raced away to 80-0 in 22.3 overs. East Bank bowlers battled but right-handed Jordan Campbell and Romeo Deonarine battled harder. Campbell top-scored with a fluent 35, including five boundaries; while Deonarine scored a fighting 26, including two boundaries, after being hit on the chest by a lively Taddius Lovell.
Georgetown played three matches and remained unbeaten in the three matches they played in the tournament.

East Coast v West Demerara
In the other fixture at the Georgetown Cricket Club (GCC), East Coast won the toss and elected to field first. West Demerara scored 80-9 from their allotted 50 overs. Rezekiel Renee was the lone batsman to reach double figures, scoring 10. Bowling for East Coast, Nicholas Sheopersaud was the most destructive bowler

grabbing 5-27, while Josh Alives claimed 2 for 9.
Chasing 81 for victory, East Coast were cautious in their approach accumulating 81-7 in 41.4. Omari Lallbachan was the unbeaten batsman on 26, while Nicolas Sheopersaud remained unbeaten on 4. Bowling for West Demerara, Sachin Balgobin grabbed 5-13, while Nityanand Mathura and Rezekeil Renee, took one wicket a piece in the match that saw East Coast winning by three wickets.
On conclusion of the tournament, the Guyana Cricket Board was high in praise to Head Coach Orin Bailey, Territorial Development Officer (TDO) Administrative Assistant Kavita Yadram and TDO Colin Stuart for their strategic approach in ensuring that a highly talented and cohesive Georgetown team took to the field during the tournament.
