Police say ranks during an intelligence-led operation on Friday December 20, arrested a 27-year-old male of Blueberry Hill, Linden at a popular night spot in New Amsterdam, Berbice at about 00:30hrs.
The suspect is under police investigation in relation to the alleged murder of Samuel Marciano, which occurred on November 2, 2025 at 14 Miles, Issano Landing, Middle Mazaruni.
According to the police release, following the arrest, a search was conducted on a motor vehicle being used by the suspect. During the search, ranks discovered one 9MM Taurus pistol along with 11 live 9MM rounds which were found concealed in the driver’s side door.
The firearm and ammunition were processed and lodged. The suspect remains in police custody as investigations continue.
Marciano was reportedly shot multiple times by two known individuals at an Issano Landing shop during a social gathering.
Responding to the incident, Police ranks discovered Marciano’s body with several gunshot wounds. A number of spent shells and a live round were recovered at the scene.
At the time, police had said that investigators were actively pursuing leads to locate the two suspects, and appealed to the public for any information that would assist with the investigations.
