In the latest action in the V-Net Communications T20 Blast on the Essequibo Island of Wakenaam, G. Square Cavaliers and San Souci Jaguars booked their places in the final after their one-sided semi-finals at the Wakenaam Community Centre ground last Sunday.

In semi-final one, G. Square Cavaliers defeated Good Success by a whopping 65 runs. Batting first, the Cavaliers got to 144/6 from their 20 overs with Satnarine Sahadeo hitting the top score of 40 and got support from Satrohan Shiwnandan with 29.
The pick of the Good Success bowlers was Nazeer Mohamed with 2 for 17.
The run chase never got out of first gear and Good Success folded meekly for 79 15.4 overs. Sahadeo returned to claim 4 for 6 while Jaggernauth Manbodh supported with 2-14. Only Imran Khan with 24 runs showed some batting caliber to the steady bowling of the finalist.
In the second game, San Souci Jaguars defeated Maria’s Pleasure by the wide margin of 64 runs. The Jaguars batted first and raced to 161 with Nokta Moses leading the way with 35. Beesham Moses was also among the runs with 30 as was Sidique Mohamed with a rapid 20. Leoryan Ramlakhan (3-31) bowled well for Maria’s Pleasure but lacked the support at the other end.
In reply, Maria’s Pleasure was shot out for 98 with only Alex Clemenson showing some fight with a brave 22. Nokta Moses ended a superb all-round performance by claiming 4-14.
G. Square Cavaliers and San Souci Jaguars will now contest the grand final on Sunday at the Wakenaam Community Centre ground from 13:00h.
