Jamual John enjoying success in USA

Guyana’s premier cyclist Jamual John has continued his fruitful stint in the United States of America, where he plies his trade for Team Foundation.

John recently won the Randalls Island Series which consists of five races. The decorated cyclist won two of those races and came second in one, which made him the overall winner of the series.
Invited to comment by Guyana Times Sport, John said he is enjoying his time in the USA, despite the initial challenge. “So far, it is fun. At first I was not able to adapt to the speed of the race, but after two or three races, it is going good,” John said.
In May 2021, Jamual John finished second overall in the Independence three-stage race in Guyana. he clocked an overall time of six hours 57 minutes and nine seconds, just behind Briton John’s six hours 56 minutes and 57 seconds. Briton John, who is also in the USA plying his trade, won that three-stage.

Jamual made a return to Guyana back in April and won a Team Alanis 60-mile race. According to Guyana Cycling Federation President Linden Dowridge, Jamual was also initially named as a member of Team Guyana to participate in the Caribbean Cycling Championships, in which Guyana eventually did not participate.
