During the interactive session, the attendees were informed of the Act governing the Occupational Safety and Health Committee and its responsibilities in dealing with employees’ complaints, among other things.
Greene in her address to the small gathering noted that she was happy that the RDC was on board and that the Committee was established.
It was noted that apart from dealing with complaints, the Committee would be responsible for setting up and promoting programmes to improve employee training and education. Greene also established that under the Act, employers are responsible for ensuring workplace safety and health committees are enforced.
An employee who attended the session noted that it was very effective and enlightening.
