Home News Junior Policeman found with stolen motorcycle under arrest
An intelligence-led operation by ranks of the Guyana Police Force has resulted in the detention of one of their junior ranks on Wednesday after he was found to be in possession of a stolen motorcycle belonging to another member of the Force.
The 21-year-old Constable of Friendship, East Bank Demerara, who is stationed at A Division (Georgetown-East Bank Demerara) claimed ownership of the motorcycle but produced no documentation. The motorcycle was reportedly fitted with a pair of false registration plates.
Based on information received, the engine and chassis numbers of the motorcycle corresponded with that of a registration produced by another member of the Force who is also stationed in A Division and who alleged that his motorcycle bearing registration number CH 8132 was stolen from his yard in July 2017 at Dennis Street, Campbellville.
A case file is being prepared and forwarded for legal advice.
