The event, which saw competition in only Kata and Kumite events, had participants ranging in age from 6 years old to 17 years old.
An upset was registered in the 12-14 years male category when Shamar Francis topped the category after winning both the kata and kumite events. Also outstanding was Jayanti Ram, who won both the kata and kumite events in the female 15-17 years category.
Judging by the crowd reaction, the fight of the night was the final bout in the 15-17 years male 55+ kg, which saw Shemar Parkinson closely defeating Trevon Miller to win gold in the Kumite.
The evening ended with the medals presentation, which were done by the president and 1st & 2nd Vice-presidents of the Guyana Karate Federation.
