Kares Fitness Challenge returns March 11

Fitness enthusiasts will be gearing themselves up for pain and gain when the 4th annual Kares Engineering Fitness Challenge is held at the National Park Tarmac on March 11.
Guyana Fitness Games Event Organiser Jordana Ramsay-Gonsalves explained to Guyana Times Sport on Saturday that the challenge will shift its focus more to the individual scope for which they are hoping to attract 36 athletes.
Though they still be team events, Ramsay-Gonsalves further explained that the bulk of the challenges will remain the same but in two weeks they will make final decision on the various tests.

Semonica Duke and Dillon Mahadeo will be top contenders for individual honours come March 11

The organiser further detailed that in addition to the local seasoned campaigners they have been interest shown from foreign competitors from Barbados, Jamaica, Trinidad and Tobago and Suriname.
Registration will open on Monday and will run until February 22 for which registration forms can be uplifted at Fitness Express at Sheriff and John streets Campbellville.
In 2017, it was a Cross Fit 592 sweep with marque athletes Dillon Mahadeo and Semonica Duke sweeping the individual titles while the gym (Cross Fit 592) also won the team event.
Mahadeo retained the title as the “Fittest Man in Guyana” by amassing a total of 462 points ahead of Charlie Walker (410) and Anis Ade Thomas (397) while Duke scored 490 points defeating Delice Adonis (470) of Fitness Paradise in a close battle and Christina Rahman of Genesis Fitness Express was third with 435 points.
In the team competition, Cross Fit 592 emerged winners with 1268 points, while Elite Systems finished second on 1250. Fitness Paradise was third on 1220 followed by GDF (1149) and Out Of Towners (1007).
