Karma has come full circle for Azruddin Mohammed

Dear Editor,
I am following an incident that took place at Wikki/Calcuni where a Toshao invaded a Team Mohammed meeting, took away his party’s flag then stomped on it. The volatile scene was captured on social media, something that sparked strong condemnation from the WIN party leader himself. While we condemn this violent behaviour from one party to another, one must look into the background of this entire episode before we arrive at an enlightened conclusion.
In the first place, the taking down of another party’s flag or the destruction of their paraphernalia are sordid acts that are associated with the opposition, Azruddin Mohammed included. We have grown accustomed to the opposition pulling down PPP/C flags, peeing on the flags; even beatings and burnings of PPP/C people and their paraphernalia, “Slow fiah moh fire.” So, it is uncharacteristic of a PPP/C Toshao to find himself engaged in such acts.
But we must understand that we are dealing with a normal human being that has feelings and emotions, like anyone else; in this case a Toshao who would have had it to the hilt. Toshao Ramgolam would have seen this man breaking the law as it relates to going into Amerindian reservations to spill his lies. He would have said to himself, enough is enough, it was beyond him holding back, tempers flared and his reaction was to stomp his flag and chase him out.
At the time of writing, social media has caught Azruddin Mohammed’s “WIN” party supporters beating the daylight out of a PPP/C Supporter mounting his party flag on a public lamppost. So, it clearly shows that this man is in to the business of violent confrontation. We have a presidential aspirant who is associated with thugs and carries out his campaign based on such thug-like morals. His demeanour shows what his moral makeup or lack thereof is all about. He believes in violent confrontation, being cut out from the same cloth as his associates, when it comes to those whom he considers his political opponents. Whether he will succeed with that thuggish mentality is left to be seen, but what I do know he would have a handful of what took place like Wikki/Calcuni come full circle.
Even more egregious, is his supervision over the destruction of The DD owner’s property based an event that was based on a blatant lie. With arms folded he had that satisfied look on his face, that the mobsters had done their evil task in destroying that man’s property.
Is this an individual we can entrust our nation into his hands? I say a resounding no!
Now in Hindi they called what Ramgolam did to Mohammed “Karma,” I on the other hand will add the African Creole derivative, “duh fuh duh nah Obeah.” Mohamed has to come to the realisation that not all right-thinking people would put up with his foolishness, some might very well snap in just the same way as did the Toshao at Wikki/Calcuni.

Yours sincerely,
Neil Adams
