Keemo special keeps Essequibo in charge

Keemo Paul hammered a monstrous 177 as table leaders Essequibo imposed their will onto Upper Corentyne, seizing control of the match heading into the final day with a sizeable 204-run lead when round five of the GCB/Jaguars 3-Day league continued Saturday at Port Mourant Ground.
After gaining a meager lead of 37-runs at the end of the first day, Upper Corentyne lost their way and control of the match after Paul, who made his 50 from 33 balls and his 100 from 63 deliveries, sped to his big ton which required a total of 126 deliveries and featured 10 fours and 12 mighty sixes.
At stumps, Essequibo were placed firmly on 361-3 from 63 overs with in-form batsman Ricardo Adams creeping close to his third century of the competition after ending day two’s on 62 not out (4×4; 5×6) while his partner Kemol Savory will resume his innings on 37 (4×4; 1×6). Opener Kevon Boodie earlier scored 59 while off-spinner Eon Hooper claimed 2-81.
West Berbice vs East Bank at Bushlot Ground
West Berbice 1st innings (140 all out in 42.2 overs), were bowled out for 190 batting a second time with Atherly Bailey (78) and Gudakesh Motie (50). Off-spinner Steven Jacobs ended with 5-22 for East Bank who were bowled out for 191 runs in the 1st innings, are 62-2 needing 140 for a win with Sachin Singh (18*) and Darshan Persaud (10*), at the crease.
Georgetown vs West Demerara at Tuschen Ground
Georgetown, who dismissed West Demerara for 333 all out in 97.3 overs after all-rounder Raymon Reifer’s 100, replied with a massive 396 all out from 81.2 overs with Raymond Perez hitting 138, Ramaal Lewis 68, Chris Barnwell 86 and Steven Sankar 48.
Travis Persaud Keshram Seodan and Richie Looknauth ended with three wickets each for West Dem who were trailing by 20 runs heading into the final day on 43-2 with batsmen Akshaya Persaud (13*) and Tevin Imlach (06*), set to resume.
Lower Corentyne vs East Coast at Lusignan Ground
Jonathan Foo continued from last season, as he slammed 152 while Kevlon Anderson notched up 102 for Lower Corentyne who amassed a mammoth 343-3 in their first innings.
