Keen contest expected in Lower Corentyne, East Coast clash

East Coast has surpassed West Demerara to take up second position heading into the fifth round of the Jaguars Franchise League and the former will face leaders Lower Corentyne at Albion Community Centre ground in the top of the table clash.Both teams are yet to lose a match, but the Lower Corentyne team has been more fortunate not to be hampered by rain as was the case with East Coast team, that lost two days of play due to wet outfield in their Georgetown clash.

It is all up to discarded national players, Chanderpaul Hemraj and Amir Khan to lead from the front with bat and ball respectively while others like Steven Sankar, Paul Wintz and the Yadram brothers Kamesh and Bhaskar to bring their best performance to overhaul the leaders.

In the other matches, Upper Corentyne will tackle Essequibo at the Port Mourant Community Centre ground, Upper Demerara/ East Bank will take on West Berbice at the Enterprise Community Centre ground and Georgetown will take on third placed West Demerara at the Lusignan Community Centre.

Lower Corentyne continues to enjoy a handsome lead in the Jaguars Franchise League with 70.8 points, 16.8 points clear of the second placed team, East Coast who has 54 points.
