Kennard’s Memorial Turf Club slated to host Emancipation meet

The Kennard’s Memorial Turf Club is gearing up to host its annual Emancipation race meet. The event, which will go down at its Bush Lot, Corentyne track, is slated for Sunday, July 29, 2018.
The races will be run under the rules of the Guyana Horse Racing Authority, and entries for those races will be closed on Sunday, July 22. In the event that there are fewer than five horses entered for any event, the Club reserves the right to cancel or reframe the said event or reduce the prize money after consulting with the horses’ owners. Additionally, owners of horses must pay at least $5000 for each horse at the point of entry. If not paid, the horse’s name would not appear on the official programme and the horse would not be permitted to run.
Other racing conditions include: 1. Five horses must start before a third prize is paid; 2. Seven horses must start before a fourth prize is paid; 3. If only four horses start, the prize money will be reduced by 25 per cent and if only three horses start, the prize money will be reduced by 40 per cent.
