Kitty labourer stabbed to death during robbery

A labourer was on Friday evening stabbed to death during a robbery at the corners of Barr and Alexander Streets, Kitty, Georgetown.
Dead is 27-year-old Taj Andrew Jarvis of Dowding Street, Kitty.
Based on reports received, the now dead man and a friend were walking along Alexander Street at about 20:00h when the knife wielding suspect confronted the duo, demanding money. An argument reportedly ensued among the men and it was at this time that the suspect dealt the deceased stabs to the left side of his chest and chin.
As a result of the injuries Jarvis sustained, he reportedly collapsed but the suspect further dealt him several kicks about his body before fleeing the scene. The friend who was with the now dead man at the time was unharmed.
The friend contacted the Police and an ambulance arrived at the scene. Jarvis was rushed to the Georgetown Public Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
The Police have launched a manhunt for the suspect who is said to be a 30-year-old resident of Shell Road, Kitty.
