Knife-point robbery accused remanded

A man accused of robbing another man at knife point was on Friday remanded to prison when he appeared before Magistrate Leron Daly at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts. Charged is Emmanuel Larry, who denied the charge.
Particulars of the charge stated that on February 9, at Middle Road, La Penitence, Georgetown, while armed with a knife, he robbed Damion Harry of his cell phone valued at $50,000. The unrepresented defendant was remanded until March 22, 2022.

Robbery accused: Emmanuel Larry

The Police Prosecutor said the Virtual Complainant and defendant are known to each other. On February 9, Harry went to Larry’s home to meet a female. While there, it is alleged that Larry held him at knife point and relieved him of the phone.
The complainant reported the incident to the Ruimveldt Police Station and Larry was arrested. The Police Prosecutor opposed the defendant being granted bail on the ground that he was previously charged with a similar offence.
The Prosecutor’s objection was upheld. (G1)
