A Kwakwani man was on Friday sentenced to six months’ imprisonment by Magistrate Wanda Fortune after he was found guilty of illegal possession of ammunition.
The defendant, Joshua Jainandon, was sentenced in absentia after he failed to make an appearance at the Kwakwani Magistrate’s Court for sentencing.
Prosecution facts on the case indicated that the defendant was caught with a 12-gauge cartridge in his possession on Wednesday, December 5, 2018, at Wiruni Village, Upper Berbice River, when he was not the holder of a firearm licence.
