Labourer arrested for rape of 12-year-old

A 28-year-old man has been arrested for the rape of a 12-year-old schoolgirl of Region Three (Essequibo Islands-West Demerara).
The incident allegedly occurred on February 17 at a location on the West Bank of Demerara.
Police said that the labourer is assisting law enforcement in the ongoing investigation.
