Labourer charged for beating stepson

A labourer found himself before the courts on Wednesday after he reportedly inflicted grievous bodily harm on his stepson during a beating.
Forty-five-year-old Troy Lewis, of Albouystown, Georgetown, admitted to beating Terrence Longman on July 13, 2018.
In his explanation, Lewis told the court that his stepson was in the habit of disrespecting him. On the day in question, he claimed that he was defending himself after the Virtual Complainant (VC) picked up a paling stave to threaten him.
As such, Magistrate Fabayo Azore, who he appeared before, entered a not guilty plea on his behalf. He was released on $25,000 bail. The case will continue on July 20.
