Labourer fined for stealing bicycle

Thirty-eight-year-old Troy Joseph, a labourer of North Sophia, Georgetown, yesterday confessed in Georgetown Magistrate Fabayo Azore’s court that on April 28 at Lamaha Gardens, Georgetown, he stole from Joseph Innis a bicycle valued $13,000 and a car battery valued $35,000.
The court also heard that this is not the first time Joseph has committed the offence of larceny.
Magistrate Azore accordingly fined Joseph $50,000, by he chose to spend the next three months behind bars, since he could not afford the fine.
