Labourer goes missing during fishing trip

Missing: Nazim Shamshudeen also called “Nosey”

A search has been launched for 58-year-old Nazim Shamshudeen also called “Nosey”, a labourer of Sringlands, Corriverton, Berbice, after he disappeared while on a fishing expedition.
The man reportedly left on one of his usual fishing trips but his boat was on Sunday morning found drifting in the Corentyne River without him.
The missing man had been working on a farm owned by “Global Tex” located some 40 miles up the Corentyne River and about ten miles from Orealla.
John Domond, the owner of the farm, told detectives that at about 00:30h on Sunday, Shamshudeen left in a small paddle boat with his seine. After some time elapsed and the man did not return, Domond went out to make checks and it was then he found the drifting boat without any signs of the labourer.
The matter was reported to the Police. Up to late Monday evening, Shamshudeen remained missing.
