A 30-year-old labourer from Westbury, Essequibo Coast, Region Two (Barima-Waini) was sentenced to three months’ imprisonment after pleading guilty to an assault charge.
Abnie Thomas appeared at the Charity Magistrate’s Court on October 12 before Magistrate Ravindra Mohabir, where the charge was read to him.
Thomas pleaded guilty to assaulting 39-year-old Sandeep Kissoon of Columbia, Essequibo Coast.
The offence, contrary to Section 21 of the Summary Jurisdiction (Offences) Act, Chapter 8:02, was committed on September 17, 2026, at Affiance Public Road, Essequibo Coast.
Following his guilty plea, Magistrate Mohabir sentenced Thomas to three months’ imprisonment.
