Labourer killed in suspected hit-and-run

The body of a man was on Monday morning found along the Soesdyke-Linden Highway with injuries consistent with a hit-and-run accident.
Dead is 27-year-old Mokesh Tobin, a labourer of Waikabra, Soesdyke-Linden Highway.
Reports are the mangled body was discovered about 07:15h in the vicinity of the Murudi Public Road, Soesdyke-Linden Highway
The body was identified by Tobin’s wife a few hours later, while it was still on the roadway as the Police were conducting their investigations. At the scene, there were pieces of glass and other debris that the Police suspect had come from the vehicle that was involved in the accident. A portion of the registration plate was also retrieved from the scene.
The body was taken to the Lyken Funeral Home to await a post-mortem examination. The Police are continuing their investigations.
