Eric Abrigo of Albouystown, Georgetown on Wednesday appeared at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts to answer to a simple larceny charge.
The 30-year-old labourer appeared before Magistrate Faith McGusty and denied the charge when it was read to him.
Police stated that on October 13, 2019 at Ruimveldt Police Station, he stole two car mirrors valued at $60,000 belonging to Julius Smith.
The defendant, in his address to the court, stated,”I was outside the compound fetching solar panels, when I saw a man snatch the mirrors and run up the road”.
The Prosecutor did not present any facts into the matter; however, he objected to bail being granted on the grounds that the defendant has no fixed place of abode.
The Magistrate, after listening to the Prosecutor’s grounds, remanded the defendant to prison. Abrigo is slated to make his next court appearance on November 8.
