Labourer slapped with bodily harm charge

A labourer was on Friday placed on 0,000 bail by Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan when he appeared before her charged with inflicting grievous bodily harm.
Chris Baird, 23, of Lot 41 Parika, pleaded not guilty to the charge which stated that on 10 April at Tabatinga, Central Rupununi, Lethem, he inflicted grievous bodily harm on Linden West.
Baird also denied the charge that on the same day at the same location he also inflicted grievous bodily harm to Amanda Campbell.
Magistrate McLennan enquired about the Complainants’ whereabouts to which Police Prosecutor Neville Jeffers informed the court that they are in Lethem.
The case was transferred to the Lethem Magistrate’s Court and will continue on May 30.
