Labourer slapped with felonious wounding charge

Kevin Perry, a labourer of Sparendaam, East Coast Demerara, appeared on Wednesday before Magistrate Sunil Scarce in the Mahdia Magistrate’s Court to answer a charge of felonious wounding, contrary to Section 57(a) of the Criminal Law (Offences) Act, Chapter 8:01.
It is alleged that the 26-year-old Perry unlawfully and maliciously wounded Lexroy Rigby, a 30-year-old miner of Mahdia Airstrip in Potaro.
After the allegation was read to him, Perry pleaded “guilty with explanation”.
He has been remanded to prison, and the matter has been adjourned to April 16. (G1)
