Merchant Vessel Lady Fazeela left Georgetown a short while ago en route to Barbados and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines with 275 tons of relief items.
Providing that there is favourable weather and tide, Lady Fazeela is expected to reach Barbados by Thursday and St Vincent over the weekend.
Barbados will receive drinking water and water tanks, while St Vincent will also receive the same items, in addition to food items and cleaning and hygienic supplies.
This is Guyana’s third shipment to St Vincent.
The La Soufrière Volcano on St Vincent first erupted on April 9; since then, additional eruptions have significantly affected and displaced residents.
