Larceny suspect nabbed after escaping from Police Station
Twenty-two-year-old Akash Pechia, a labourer of No. 50 Village, Corentyne Berbice, who escaped while in custody at the No. 51 Police Station, was rearrested on Thursday.
Pechia was initially taken into custody for questioning in relation to break-and-enter and larceny and other offences, but while being processed at the No.51 Police Station, he reportedly escaped.
The Police had launched a manhunt for him, and he was eventually arrested late on Thursday evening at Hazel Street, Springlands, Corriverton, Berbice.
He is presently in custody at Springlands Police Station, and is expected to be charged shortly.
