Leguan resident remanded for trafficking of narcotics

Munalica Moore of Lot 13 Phoenix, Leguan Island, Region Three (Essequibo Islands/West Demerara), on Thursday made her first court appearance before Magistrate Sunil Scarce at the Leguan Magistrate’s Court to answer possession of narcotics for the purpose of trafficking charge.
She pleaded not guilty to the charge which stated that ranks from the Leguan Police Station conducted a search on her premises. During that search a quantity of leaves, seeds and stems suspected to be cannabis and a quantity of ‘creamish hard, rock light substance’ suspected to be cocaine were found on a table. The cannabis was weighed and amounted to 22 grams while the cocaine amounted to 10 grams. She was subsequently arrested, where she denied the police allegations.
Magistrate Scarce remanded her to prison until July, 28, 2016. Moore was represented by attorney Kimberly Hairwood.
