A team of veterinarians, led by Dr Nardeo Basodeo, on Saturday visited the island of Leguan to conduct a technical assessment of the island’s stray dog population following reports of attacks on livestock and residents.
The issue was raised during a visit to the island by President Dr Irfaan Ali last week.
The intervention includes tagging dogs with identifiable owners and re-homing those that can be rehabilitated, with the aim of resolving the situation and improving public safety.
