Magnum Mash Cup 2019…
Leopold Street recorded one of the largest victories on Friday night at the National Gymnasium as the Magnum Mash Cup continued.
Agricola suffered a 0-6 thrashing at the hands of Leopold Street, who were led by a hat-trick by Okeeny Fraser, who scored in the 4th, 10th and 13th minutes. He was supported by a double from Darren Benjamin (3rd, 11th) and a follow-up strike from Mark Jhalu, who found the back of the net in the 12th minute.
Ol Skool Ballers defeated Broad Street 2-0 with goals from Rocky Gravesande and Ray Smith in the sixth and 13th minute respectively.
Bent Street also prevailed in their battle against Kingston by the same scoreline, compliments of Pernell Schultz and Sheldon Profit, who scored in the fourth and ninth minutes.
Melanie sliced through Avocado Ballers to win 2-1. Rondel Assanah’s and Anil Hernandes’ goals in the fifth and 13th minutes were enough to overshadow Dexter Marshall’s eighth minute goal for the opposition.
Sparta Boss were the other team to register a victory on the eventful night as they needled North Ruimveldt 1-0. Ryan Hackett scored the decider in the fifth minute.
Ansa McAl and Albouystown battled to a 1-1 draw in their encounter. That was also the scoreline at the end of the match between Future Stars and Buxton Diamond.
North East La Penitence and Stabroek Ballerz were awarded walkover victories after their opponents BV B and California Square did not meet all the requirements to begin play.
The other match between Rhythm Ballers and Silver Bullets was adjudged a no-contest.
The tournament continues on Tuesday at the same venue with the round-of-16 from 19:00h.
