Leopold Street vagrant stabbed to death in row over “drugs”

– 1 nabbed in nearby street, 3 others at large

Police are working to ascertain the identity of a man known only as ‘Buckman’, who allegedly had been a vagrant who used to frequent the Leopold Street, Werk-en-Rust area in Georgetown, where he met his demise reportedly in an argument over drugs.
Buckman, who had been about 45 years old, is reported to have been stabbed multiple times by four men in an alleged row over the selling of drugs. This incident is reported to have occurred at about 23:00h on Saturday at the corner of Leopold and Lombard Streets, Georgetown.
Buckman died while receiving medical attention at the Georgetown Public Hospital (GPHC). Individuals familiar with the matter have stated that the four implicated men are not from Leopold Street.
While details regarding the killing remain sketchy, it was pointed out that the suspects supposedly became annoyed after ‘Buckman’ and a few others had stopped buying drugs from them.
Official information has indicated that one of these four men whom Police are seeking has been nabbed at Cross Street, Werk-en-Rust, Georgetown, while the others remain on the run.
Police say their investigation into the matter is in progress.
