Police ranks of Region Nine (Upper Takutu-Upper Essequibo) have arrested a 25-year-old man after he was found with a quantity of ganja in his possession.

Police have said that after receiving information, they travelled to the man’s home in Tabatinga, Lethem, Central Rupununi and carried out a search, during which 12 Ziplock plastic bags containing the cannabis were found in a clothes basket in his bedroom.
He was told of the allegation and cautioned, but he remained silent.
A further search was carried out in a garbage bin, and a white transparent plastic containing another set of the illegal plant was found.
He was escorted to the Lethem Police Station with the suspected narcotics, which were weighed and amounted to seven grams.
