Lethem man busted with ganja, cocaine during Police raid

A 26-year-old man is now in Police custody after he was found with 20 grams of ganja and two grams of cocaine in his possession at Tabatinga village, Lethem, Rupununi, Region Nine (Upper Takutu-Upper Essequibo).

Police stated that acting on information received, they went to the suspect’s home during which a search was conducted. The search unearthed a black plastic bag in a bin in the kitchen area.
Upon checking the bag, 18 small transparent zip lock bags were found containing the ganja.
The suspect was then told of the offence and cautioned during which he said, “Boss let me work out something”. He was subsequently arrested.
A further search carried out on the premises unearthed the suspected cocaine. He was again told of the Police’s suspicions and cautioned, and he replied “When I hear is Police, I throw it through my window”.
He was taken to the Lethem Police Station pending charges.
