Dear Editor,
On 11th August, 2019, there was a big and bright Power Boat Racing and After Stage Show at Lake Mainstay, Essequibo.
Thousands of visitors from overseas and locally visited Mainstay/Whyaka, but, since 2020, this great sport has been stopped because of the killer COVID-19 being all over the world.
We have all had to say home and obey the rules. our Government is trying very hard to see to it that this is a priority to purchase vaccines for every Guyanese and visitors free, and everyone must take their jabs free of cost by July this year, everyone must be vaccinated. This is a once-in-a-lifetime chance.
We are also urging the Minister of Sport to get involved in the Power Boat Racing and Management of Lake Mainstay and Mainstay Councillors, so we can bring back this wonderful sport to life. Also, our racers who spent millions of dollars on their boats and engines could be happy once more.
We advise no after-stage show this year, and we hope for the Summer Regatta this August. The racers are looking forward to hearing something from the Minister of Sports and Management of Lake Mainstay very early.
Sincerely,
Winston B. Miller, Snr
