Young Guyanese cyclist Alexander Leung has continued a productive stay in Trinidad and Tobago, delivering yet another impressive performance over the weekend in both junior and senior categories.
Leung delivered a dominant showing at the Arima Velodrome Cycling Classics on Saturday, March 28, where he secured the top podium spot in the junior category.
His success at the Arima Velodrome follows another eye-catching outing at the Southern Games on March 22. There, Leung claimed victory in the Devi Takes The Hindmost (Junior) event, while also finishing fifth in the four-lap junior race. He further tested himself against older and more experienced competitors, placing sixth in the combined Elite (Categories 1, 2 and 3) and Junior 20-lap race.

Earlier that week at the Lucas Brothers Memorial Competition on March 20, Leung captured first place in the junior three-lap event, but faced challenges in other races. A crash during the six-lap junior event and mechanical issues in the 500m Open race disrupted his campaign.
Additionally, the We Stand United cyclist been officially invited to attend a track cycling training camp organised by the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) World Cycling Centre. Leung will be joined by fellow Guyanese youngsters Sidwell Sandy and Ajani Cutting at the UCI World Cycling Centre Continental Development Satellite in Couva, Trinidad from April 3 to April 10.
