LGC Course ready for Miss Guyana Sports segment

Despite onset of severe rainy weather, the Lusignan Golf Club course is ready to host the 2018 Miss World Guyana pageant’s Sports and Fitness competition.
The event, which lasts from 14:00h to 16:00h, will see the 10 finalist being tasked with showing off their graceful physical prowess and mental attitude in regard to sports.
The Mother’s Day extravaganza will be a special occasion for the LGC, as such an event has never previously been held there. LGC president, Aleem Hussain, told Guyana Times Sport  on Saturday that, thanks to tremendous upgrades, both indoor and outdoor competitions can be staged at the venue even if there is a rainstorm.

The final 10 contestants will undergo their Sports and Fitness Segment on Sunday at the Lusignan Club

He said that with the overall venue being in the best shape of its life, Sunday’s gala will run off smoothly. The contestants, who last month met with Minister of Social Cohesion/Sport, Dr George Norton, will be tasked with showing their knowledge regarding the importance of pursuing healthy lifestyles through the use of sports and exercise.
The Miss World Guyana finalists in this year’s pageant are: Ambika Ramraj, Andrea Marslowe, Breeanka West, Dianna Persaud, Donnette Linton, Joylyn Conway, Lalita Baliram, Lateifha Goodluck, Nichola Munroe, and Tracy Smith.
