Home Sports LGC season tees off with Trophy Stall Open
Trophy Stall have been confirmed as sponsors for the Lusignan Golf Club’s (LGC) first tournament of 2018, set for Saturday January 13 at the newly restored course.
After some weeks of drainage and irrigation works at the course, golfers for the first time in roughly four years will take to the greens months ahead of the routine time. The club’s first major tournament of the year is expected to lure a full field of golfers, who according to LGC President Aleem Hussain have rushed to register in order to have a crack at the new fairways.
Some of Guyana’s best Male and Female pros are set to grace the greens, with high-caliber players like eight-time women’s’ champion Christine Sukhram, two-time champion Joaan Deo and eight-time men’s’ champion Avinash Persaud all looking to start 2018 off with a bang.
Trophy Stall has been a long-time sponsor of sports in Guyana, more so the LGC who it has been supporting a lot over the years. Managing Director Ramesh Sunich pledged his continued support to the fraternity, especially in light of the plans that the Club has for the next few years.
Meanwhile, Saturday’s competition will feature numerous prizes, lunch and snack being provided to players, members and guests as the LGC seeks to establish itself as the destination for events and relaxation.
