Massy Guyana has donated a sizeable sum to sponsor the Lusignan Golf Club (LGC) tournament to be held today, September 10, 2022, starting 12:30h, with a total of 30 golfers set to participate.
The competition is expected to be tight as many top golfers will be seeking to overthrow Mike Mangal, who will be seeking to capture his third consecutive title.
Massy Gas Products Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Lekhnaraine Shivraj said, “Our values include supporting communities wherever we operate, and Massy Guyana is pleased to contribute to golf, which is a fast-developing sport in Guyana. We want to help develop golf like cricket and football, so people can have more options in sporting disciplines.”
Massy Group Senior Vice President Navindra Thakur pledged continued support for the sport.

Prizes up for grabs will be:
Overall Best Net
* 1st Place – Trophy
* 2nd Place – Trophy
* 3rd Place – Trophy
Best Gross
Nearest to Flag – Hole #4
Longest Drive – Hole #5

While accepting the sponsorship cheque, LGC President Patanjilee Persaud said it would help offset the usual heavy cost for maintaining the golf course on the East Coast. Club Secretary Chet Bowling said he deeply appreciated Massy for always “demonstrating good corporate social responsibility” by supporting the Club and its activities.
Also sharing his sentiments was LGC Public Relations Officer (PRO) William Walker who said, “We deeply appreciate the support from Mr Shivraj and Massy over the years – an example of good corporate citizenship. The course is improving each week and scores should be low this year.”
All participants are advised to contact the Club’s manager on the day of the tournament to collect their scorecards, pay their tournament fees and proceed to their allocated tee boxes to begin play at 12:30h. Once on their respective tee boxes, players must await the sounding of the horn or siren as the signal to begin teeing off.
Presentation of prizes will be held upon completion of the tournament at approximately 17:30h (5:30pm).
