LHC recognises New Year’s babies, mothers

CEO of the Linden Hospital Complex Rudy Small and acting Administrator Michelle Bollers posed with the proud mothers and their babies on Monday

A number of mothers of newborn babies born at the Linden Hospital Complex (LHC) in Region 10 (Upper Demerara-Berbice) on New Year’s Day were recognised by the healthcare institution on Monday.
The hospital’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Rudy Small handed over hampers to the mothers during a simple ceremony hosted at his office. In presenting the hampers, the CEO said the aim was to give babies a good start, as he admonished parents to continue to partner with the hospital to continue to ensure the good health of their babies.
“What we want to do is give them a good start in life, and we have partnered with some of the members of the local business community who have donated these lovely hampers to our new mothers,” Small stated.
“I would like our mothers to have a long and ongoing relationship with the Linden Hospital Complex. Please ensure that you bring babies back so that they can get vaccination. We want them to remain healthy. and we’re here to support you mothers and the babies…So if there’s anything health-wise that the babies would need, please feel free to let me know and I would do my utmost to ensure they have a good and healthy life going forward,” the CEO continued.
Acting Administrator Michelle Bollers also uttered similar sentiments as she noted that the hospital plans to execute a similar initiative on Mother’s Day. They also expressed gratitude to the business community for their support in the initiative.
The babies welcomed by the hospital for 2021 were earlier rewarded by Republic Bank.
