“Lil Man” remanded for Issano Landing murder

Twenty-seven-year-old Mike Caesar, also known as “Lil Man” or “Spanish Man”, of Blue Berry Hill, Wismar, Linden, was arraigned on Tuesday for the murder of Samuel Marciano, which occurred on November 2, 2025, at 14 Miles Landing, Issano, Middle Mazaruni River.
Caesar was arrested last Friday following the discovery of a 9mm Taurus pistol along with 11 live rounds of matching ammunition in New Amsterdam, Berbice.
He appeared before Magistrate Teriq Mohamed at the Bartica Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday, where the murder charge was read to him. He was not required to plead to the indictment and was remanded to prison until February 5, 2026.

It was reported that Marciano was shot multiple times by two known individuals at an Issano Landing shop during a social gathering.
In response to the incident, Police ranks discovered Marciano’s body with several gunshot wounds. A number of spent shells and a live round were recovered at the scene.
At the time, Police stated that investigators were actively pursuing leads to locate the two suspects and appealed to the public for any information that would assist with the investigation.
