The Linden Hospital Complex (LHC) in Region 10 (Upper Demerara-Berbice) on Thursday received a brand-new ambulance from the Health Ministry to better equip that medical facility to respond to emergencies.
The ambulance was handed over by Health Minister Dr Frank Anthony to LHC Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Rudolph Small and Regional Health Officer (RHO) Dr Gregory Harris in a simple handing over ceremony.
The hospital’s CEO has expressed gratitude to the Health Ministry and its Permanent Secretary, Malcolm Watkins, for ensuring that his request for an ambulance was fulfilled. He also noted that the new addition would help to improve the quality of health services being offered to the people of the region.
Pastor Selwyn Sills ceremoniously blessed the ambulance, and prayed for safety and protection of the patients and staff who would be utilising it.
According to information from the LHC, the new ambulance is estimated to have cost $7.5 million.
