A 35-year-old man was admitted to the hospital in critical condition after he was chopped by two men while walking home on the Bamia Trail, Linden, Region 10 on Tuesday.
Injured is Junior Lewis, aka “Yankee” of Bamia Trail, Amelia’s Ward, Linden.
Police said Lewis was walking along the Bamia Trail heading home when he was attacked by two men, who dealt him several chops to his left hand.
Following the incident, the man was left lying on the road while his assailants made good their escape.
On Wednesday about 09:00h, a farmer who was travelling along the same trail found the man in a serious state and summoned the Police.
When the Police arrived on the scene, they observed the victim had two gaping wounds on his left hand. He was picked up and taken to the Linden Hospital Complex, where he was admitted.
Police have since launched an investigation into the matter, and are currently looking for the suspects. Police, however, did not reveal the motive behind the chopping. (G9)
