Linden man chopped to death during fight with brothers-in-law

A 56-year-old man from Wismar, Linden, was chopped to death on Saturday during a fight with two of his wife’s brothers.
Dead is John Jones, of Block 22 Squatting Area, Wismar, Linden. Based on reports received, on the day in question at about 16:00h, the now dead man and his wife had a disagreement during which the woman called her two brothers to collect her and the children.
As the two men arrived at their sister’s residence, the now dead man armed himself with two cutlasses and confronted them in the yard.
The confrontation escalated, thus resulting in the two men receiving chop wounds. One of them was chopped to the back of his head and the other sustained a wound to the right side of his face.
As a result, a scuffle then ensued between Jones and the suspects, during which one of the men relieved Jones of a cutlass and dealt him several chops on his body.
However, upon seeing what was taking place, the victim’s wife and their three children ran away.
Following the altercation, one of the men immediately reported the incident at the Wismar Police Station. He was subsequently escorted to the Linden Hospital Complex, where he is currently receiving medical attention.
The other suspect entered a taxi and went to the Linden Hospital Complex, where he was seen by a doctor and admitted as a patient, with his condition being listed as serious.
Further, upon arriving at the scene, the Police found Jones lying in a motionless state in the back of his yard. At the time, he was clad in a pair of blue three-quarter pants and a black vest.
He was taken to the Linden Hospital Complex where he was pronounced dead. Investigations are ongoing.
