Police in Region 10 (Upper Demerara-Berbice) are on the hunt for three men who robbed a Blueberry Hill, Wismar, Linden family and shot one of the victims.
Reports are that the bandits escaped with three cell phones and gold jewellery valued at $400,000.
According to reports, the armed bandits pounced on the unsuspecting family at about 20:15h and held them at gunpoint while demanding gold and valuables.
Police have since said that the perpetrator, who was armed with a firearm, discharged two rounds as his accomplices relieved the family of their belongings.
According to Police, as the perpetrators were making their escape, Corwin Sampson was returning his cousin’s motorcycle which he had borrowed earlier when he was approached by the perpetrators and shot to his left knee before being relieved of his silver chain valued at $20,000 and a silver ring valued $5000.
Sampson was rushed to the Linden Hospital Complex.
An investigation has been launched. (G2)
