Linden men busted with cocaine, ganja during Police operations
Two men, a 31-year-old and a 55-year-old are now in custody after they were found with a quantity of ganja and cocaine in their possession during separate Police operations.
The Police stated that on Saturday at about 14:30h at Co-op Crescent Mackenzie Linden, Region 10 (Upper Demerara-Berbice), the 31-year-old male was found with 118 grams of cannabis.
Based on reports, members of an Anti-Crime Patrol observed the suspect acting in a suspicious manner in Co-op Crescent Mackenzie and as such they approached him and, in an attempt to escape, he started to run.
In retaliation, the ranks gave chase and the man was cornered in the Mackenzie Market.
A search was conducted on his person and the ganja was unearthed in a black fanny pack that he was wearing around his shoulders.
He denied ownership but was cautioned, arrested and escorted to Mackenzie Police Station with the cannabis which was weighed and amounted to 118 grams. He is expected to be charged in the new week.
Also, on Saturday at around 20:15h at Wismar, Linden, a 55-year-old male was taken into custody after he was found with 5 grams of cocaine.
Police stated that the discovery was made during a Police operation for drugs, arms and ammunition at Silvertown, Wismar, Linden.
Based on information received, the Police went to “Tika Drug Block” where the 55-year-old male was seen and a search was conducted on his person.
One crazy glue container was found in the pocket of his pants which contained 70 pieces of a whitish rock-like substance suspected to be cocaine.
He was told of the allegation, cautioned and he said “Boss is lil crack I does hussle fuh a man but I can’t call he name”.
He was arrested and escorted to the Wismar Police Station where he was charged. He is expected to make his court appearance shortly.
