Injured: Eon “Junior” Patterson

This was confirmed by the teen’s sister, who told Guyana Times that her brother suffered major injuries to his throat and jaw.
“He’s still unconscious, so the doctors are working on him still … his throat is damaged and his jaw is broken…,” his sister related.
It was reported that the young man, of Block 22, Wismar, was rushed to the Linden Hospital Complex (LHC) in critical condition after he lost control of the motorcycle he was riding and slammed into a house.
He was referred to the Georgetown Public Hospital owing to the severity of his injuries. Based on reports, the accident occurred a short distance away from the teen’s home.
The young man’s sister explained that she had asked him to purchase an item at a nearby shop, but she was unaware that he took her fiancé’s motorcycle, which had been parked underneath the house.
After some time had elapsed and he did not return home, the young man’s sister said she started to call out for him. She recalled standing in the house when she saw him passing the house at a fast pace and soon after heard a crashing sound.
She noted that after realising what happened, she sent her sister to check on him and she returned to the home, revealing that he was lying outside a house in an unconscious state.
At the time of the accident, Patterson was not wearing a helmet. His sister noted that if he had been wearing a helmet, his injuries would not have been that severe.
The owner of the house had stated that she and her children were inside when they heard a crashing sound and ran to the front where they saw the young man lying on the sand and the motorcycle next to him. An alarm was raised and the young man was taken to the hospital.
