Linden Policemen granted bail on assault charges

Two Linden Police Constables who appeared before Magistrate Wanda Fortune at the Linden Magistrate’s Court on Monday, charged with the offences of assault causing actual bodily harm and unlawful wounding, were each granted bail in the sum of $25,000.
The defendants, Police Constables Roger Smith and Kevin Watson, were charged with the offences committed on Devon Trotman and Glen Eastman – the Virtual Complainants (VCs).
The alleged incident occurred on October 11, 2020, at Cinderella City, Amelia’s Ward, Linden. Police Constable Smith, through his attorney, Leslyn Charles pleaded not guilty to the charges when they were read to him.
Constable Watson, who was unrepresented, also pleaded not guilty to the charges. The case was adjourned until February 12, 2021, for report and fixture.
