her life after she was stabbed during a brawl after leaving school on Thursday.
The fight was caught on camera and shared on social media.
Based on reports received, the injured student of Amelia’s Ward, Mackenzie was involved in a physical altercation with another female student of the said school when she was stabbed in the lower back with a “Rambo” type knife.
In the video, the knife can be seen lodged in her body as she bled profusely and pleaded with persons to be taken to the hospital.
Guyana Times understands that the student was rushed to the Linden Hospital Complex (LHC) and was immediately taken into the operating theatre to undergo emergency surgery.

This publication understands that teachers of the school had confiscated a similar knife as the one used to stab the student from a male student.
When contacted, Region 10 Police Commander Hugh Winter confirmed that the student was stabbed during a fight with another student and was rushed to the hospital.
He noted that up to press time the alleged perpetrator was not arrested since she was not at home when the Police visited.
The Commander noted that an investigation has been launched into the incident.
