Linden teen dies in accident

…driver charged for causing death by dangerous driving

An 18-year-old male is now dead following a motorcycle accident on the One Mile Public Road in Wismar, Linden on Sunday.
Dead is Odel Taylor of Wismar, Linden. The accident occurred at around 07:45h.
Charged is 22-year-old David Narine, a motorcyclist of Lot 7 Half Mile Wismar, Linden, who was riding motorcycle CF 6477.
Police reported that Taylor was speeding on motorcycle CL 731, and was without a helmet when Narine crashed into him. The Police say Narine was proceeding east out of Pinette Street, heading to One Mile Public Road, and failed to stop at the junction.

As result of the accident, Taylor fell off the motorcycle he was riding, and his head collided with a concrete culvert. He was picked up by public-spirited citizens and taken to the Linden Hospital Complex, where he was pronounced dead.
After the accident occurred, Narine reportedly fled the scene, but was later arrested and charged. He appeared before Magistrate Clive Nurse at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts on Wednesday. Along with being charged for causing death by dangerous driving, Narine has also been charged for being an unlicensed driver and for having an uninsured motor vehicle.
He pleaded guilty to those two charges and was fined $30,000 on each count. He pleaded not guilty to the charge of causing death by dangerous driving and was released on $500,000. bail.
