Home News Lindener charged for failing to submit to breathalyser test
A Linden man who appeared before Magistrate Clive Nurse at the Linden Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday was granted $10,000 bail on the charge of failure to submit to a breathalyser test, requested by a member of the Guyana Police Force.
Shawn Niekerk of Lot 1841 Central Amelia’s Ward, Mackenzie, Linden, denied the charge which stated that on August 16, 2018, he drove motor car HC 7824 along Sir David Rose Avenue and failed to comply in accordance with a member of the Police Force who had stopped him and requested that he submit to a breathalyser test.
The 50-year-old man was represented by Attorney René McDonald, who in a bail application told the court that the Niekerk is a taxi driver. The prosecution did not object to bail. The matter will continue on September 12.
